Ban on Maggi – All news from beginning

All Maggi lovers curious about the news for Ban on Maggi, It is true that maggi may have to face Ban in India for using few chemicals in it beyond the allowed limit.

For that we need to wait for Reponse by Labs that are testing it. No Ban on Maggi for now- said by Nestle on Social Media.


How it all started – Ban on Maggi

The Kerala government on Tuesday directed its outlets to stop selling of Maggi noodles owing to safety concerns. The move comes amid Maggi samples collected from Uttar Pradesh which were found to contain excessive amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead in it.

MSG and Lead is harmful for human health- as in contrast maggi is promoted as a healthy Eatables in India. Nestle India, which manufactures Maggi, meanwhile has claimed that the Maggi noodles are safe to eat as the results of the tests indicate lead content is within the permissible levels for consumption.

What is MSG- MonoSodium Glutamate
MSG is the the naturally occuring amino acid that is added to the foods to add flavour to them. Side effects of MSG includes headaches, flushing and sweating in excess.

Steps Taken for Ban on Maggi
The government on Monday said the industry watchdog Food Safety Standards Authority of India had taken more samples of Maggi across India for testing after certain harmful substances were allegedly found in a batch in quantities higher-than-permissible-limits.

For this a local court of Barabanki send a summon to Nestle India and its retailer EasyDay on July 1, 2015 with reference to the case filed by Uttar Pradesh Food and Drug Admisistration (FDA).
